Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and proactive individual to take on the role of Privacy Management Specialist within the PACC-CCAP - Privacy and Access Council of Canada. This position is ideal for someone who is passionate about privacy rights and information management.

Key Responsibilities
In this essential role, you will be responsible for the administration of the organization's Privacy Management Program, ensuring adherence to the relevant privacy legislation. Your duties will include:

  • Managing daily operations related to privacy compliance.
  • Processing information requests while interpreting and applying privacy regulations.
  • Conducting thorough analyses of complex data for potential release.
  • Recommending whether to disclose or withhold information and preparing necessary documentation.
  • Drafting and reviewing Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs) and related policies.
  • Collaborating with various departments and external entities to ensure comprehensive privacy practices.
  • Providing guidance, training, and support to staff and the public regarding privacy regulations.

Additional Duties
As needed, you will also be responsible for administrative tasks, including preparing agendas for meetings, taking minutes, and assisting with confidential matters.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in Local Government Administration, Records Management, and Privacy Legislation. Required qualifications include:

  • A minimum of two years of progressive experience in records and information management.
  • Completion of secondary education.
  • Proficiency in interpreting and applying privacy legislation and regulations.
  • Familiarity with records management best practices.
  • Strong skills in minute-taking and document management.

The salary range for this position is competitive and commensurate with experience.
