Event Planner Job Description

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Event Planner to join our team at STAR EDMONTON BANQUET AND CONFERENCE CENTRE LTD.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Promote our conference and meeting services or special events to clients and stakeholders.
  • Inspect and select suitable sites for events, ensuring they meet our high standards.
  • Develop and implement marketing and communication plans to promote our services.
  • Design and execute media strategies and public relations activities to enhance our brand.
  • Review and negotiate bids from vendors to ensure the best value for our clients.
  • Assist in preparing budgets and managing event finances.
  • Coordinate media services, including audio-visual equipment and technical support.
  • Implement social programs, food and beverage services, and transportation arrangements for events.
  • Set up and monitor, or arrange for the setting up and monitoring of multi-media equipment.
  • Plan and arrange for accommodation and transportation services for event attendees.
  • Plan and arrange for trade shows and exhibits to showcase our services.
  • Develop and implement business plans to drive growth and revenue.
Requirements:
  • 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in event planning or a related field.
  • Permanent position with 30 to 35 hours of work per week.
  • Fluency in English language.
