Canola Breeding Summer Opportunity

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our Canola Breeding team as a Summer Associate in Saskatoon, SK.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in field trials for local and global breeding programs to develop high-yielding canola hybrids.
  • Contribute to variety development and registration processes, including seed setup, land preparation, seeding, pest control, and plot maintenance.
  • Collaborate with the team to diagnose crop health issues and collect data for analysis.
  • Work independently or as part of a team to achieve project goals.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Agriculture or a related field, or recent graduate with a strong understanding of breeding and agronomy.
  • Experience in the agriculture industry is an asset, but not required.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to adapt to changing situations.
  • Strong interest in canola development and ability to deliver results.
  • Previous farm or machinery experience is an asset, but not necessary as training will be provided.
