Job Title: Corporate Director, Data Management

At Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce, we are seeking a highly skilled Corporate Director, Data Management to join our team. This is a temporary (fixed term) position that will play a pivotal role in ensuring the effective governance and control of Administration.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure CIBC procedures and policies are being followed to eliminate risk exposure and potential financial loss to the organization.
  • Lead planning, testing, deficiency management, and control activities to support all of Administration (excluding Internal Audit).
  • Lead a team focused on delivering governance activities for Administration.
  • Work with the Administration Senior Leadership Team to ensure that effective business controls are in place to meet all of CIBC operating requirements.
  • Manage in-depth analysis to determine root cause of issues/concerns and find resolution through the review of key controls reporting.
  • Provide oversight/monitoring for the testing and review of the FPC, OPC and LCM results to ensure CIBC's control methodologies are adhered to.
  • Establish objectives and deadlines for FPC, OPC and LCM processes to ensure the completeness and accuracy of Controls documentation in the Controls repository.
  • Handle inquiries, clarifications and interpretations from Global Operations Risk Management, Compliance, internal and external auditors to expedite quarterly certifications.
  • Establish relationships with other stakeholders of the CIBC Control framework across the organization to facilitate communication and teamwork.
Requirements:
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to analyze complex data and identify root causes of issues.
  • Experience in governance and risk management.
  • Knowledge of CIBC's control framework and policies.
