About the Role

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Accounts Receivable Clerk to join our team at PHSA. As an Accounts Receivable Clerk, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accurate and timely processing of financial transactions, including billing, payments, and reconciliations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Billing and Payment Processing: Prepare and send invoices to patients, insurance companies, and other payers; process payments and reconcile accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Financial Transactions: Post payments, adjustments, and journal entries to the general ledger; maintain accurate and up-to-date records of financial transactions.
  • Collection and Follow-up: Identify and pursue delinquent accounts; communicate with patients and payers to resolve discrepancies and ensure timely payment.
  • Record-Keeping and Reporting: Maintain accurate and detailed records of financial transactions; prepare and distribute reports to management and other stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Grade 12 and completion of a recognized accounting course; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Two years of recent experience in accounts receivable, financial transactions, or a related field.
  • Ability to keyboard at 40 wpm; excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team; physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
