Reporting to the Supply Chain Management Lead, the Procurement Specialist will be based in our office. This role is crucial for ensuring the effective and economical procurement of materials and services for our construction endeavors. The ideal candidate will possess substantial experience in supply chain management, be proficient in SAP, and have a solid background in the construction sector.

Key Responsibilities
  • Source, negotiate, and acquire materials, equipment, and services for projects.
  • Establish and nurture relationships with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely delivery and favorable terms.
  • Assess, evaluate, and select suppliers based on quality, cost, reliability, and schedule adherence.
  • Monitor and evaluate contract performance for compliance and necessary adjustments.
  • Utilize SAP & Viewpoint for managing purchase orders and maintaining precise procurement records.
  • Ensure all purchasing activities are documented in SAP/Viewpoint and adhere to company policies.
  • Analyze market trends to identify cost-saving opportunities and process enhancements.
  • Conduct cost analysis and risk assessments.
  • Oversee and manage procurement budgets.
  • Ensure compliance with regulations, standards, and safety protocols.
  • Identify and mitigate supply chain risks.
  • Collaborate with project managers, construction managers, and quality assurance teams on quality-related issues.
  • Maintain procurement documentation, including purchase orders, contracts, and supplier agreements.
  • Prepare and present reports on procurement activities, cost savings, and supplier performance metrics.
  • Work with internal stakeholders to schedule and forecast material and equipment requirements.
  • Manage supplier relationships, addressing issues and fostering continuous improvement.
  • Create accurate purchase orders and procurement documentation.
  • Implement procurement strategies to fulfill project requirements and timelines.
  • Track supplier performance metrics.
  • Assist the Estimating team with RFX packages for proposal pricing.
  • Coordinate with site teams to ensure procurement needs are met.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • SMT (Supply Management Training) or SCMP (Supply Chain Management Professional) designation is highly desirable or enrollment in the SCMP program is considered an asset.
  • 5-7 years of experience in procurement, supply chain management, or a related field, preferably within the construction industry.
  • Familiarity with electrical construction materials, equipment, and industry standards.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Visio).
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Detail-oriented with robust organizational skills to maintain accurate records and track orders.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Ability to manage disputes or issues with suppliers during the procurement process.
  • In-depth knowledge of procurement processes, sourcing strategies, and best practices.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of quality and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
