Position Overview

As a Personal Support Worker in the nursing care sector, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for our residents at Strathcona Long Term Care. Your responsibilities will encompass a variety of essential tasks aimed at ensuring the comfort and well-being of patients.

Educational Requirements
  • Completion of a college, CEGEP, or equivalent non-university program lasting between 3 months to less than 1 year.
Work Environment

This position is situated within a long-term care facility, where you will engage with residents in a supportive and caring atmosphere.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with daily personal care tasks to promote patient comfort.
  • Support patients during mealtime, including serving food and providing assistance as needed.
  • Engage in physical support activities such as weighing, lifting, turning, and positioning patients.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in patient rooms, including making beds.
  • Oversee and encourage patients' exercise routines to promote physical health.
  • Provide personal hygiene assistance, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
  • Safely transport patients using wheelchairs or stretchers.
  • Respond to patient call signals to address their needs promptly.
Experience Requirements
  • Previous experience in a similar role is considered an asset.
