Position Summary:

As a Software Engineering Team Supervisor, you will play a pivotal role in guiding a team of skilled developers, utilizing cutting-edge technologies to create impactful products that address real-world business communication challenges. Your leadership will be essential in driving our commitment to excellence in application development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a dedicated team of developers in an Agile setting, focusing on delivering high-quality products.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration and knowledge sharing within the team.
  • Mentor team members to enhance their professional and technical skills.
  • Provide constructive feedback and recognize individual contributions to promote team morale.
  • Encourage continuous improvement in code quality, architecture, and development processes.
  • Collaborate with product and project managers to ensure accurate product delivery and adherence to schedules.
  • Address production issues promptly by working with relevant stakeholders.
  • Take ownership of team deliverables, ensuring the production of scalable and reliable products.
  • Build strong interdepartmental relationships to support the overall success of T-Net British Columbia.
  • Engage in hands-on development activities, dedicating a portion of your time to design reviews and sprint planning.
  • Advocate for secure coding practices and information security.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of 8 years in software development, with a proven track record of delivering enterprise-grade software.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a hands-on leadership role within a development team.
  • Experience managing teams across different geographical locations.
  • Proven ability to drive positive change and improve team dynamics.
  • Excellent communication and consensus-building skills.
  • Familiarity with full-stack SaaS development and advanced web applications.
  • Experience in API development and managing complex databases.
  • Bonus: Knowledge in Security, Authentication, Authorization, or Cryptography.

Technical Proficiencies:

  • Programming Languages: Java, Python, Spring Boot Framework.
  • Containerization Technologies: Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift.
  • Database Management: PostgreSQL, CockroachDB, Cassandra.
  • Other Technologies: ZooKeeper, Kafka, Ansible.
