Job Title: Layout Artist

Sony Pictures Imageworks is a leading visual effects company that values diversity and inclusion. We are seeking a skilled Layout Artist to join our team.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a talented Layout Artist to translate storyboards and sketches into 3D sequences of shots. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of camera composition, cinematographic principles, and applicable software packages, including Maya.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Translate storyboards and sketches into 3D sequences of shots
  • Determine camera composition, angles, and movement
  • Establish set and background geometry
  • Create basic blocking for all characters and props
  • Collaborate with production, supervisors, and team members to problem-solve and share information

Requirements:

  • 2-3 years of relevant experience in layout or a related field
  • Strong knowledge of camera composition, cinematographic principles, and applicable software packages, including Maya
  • Ability to work efficiently as part of a team or independently
  • High attention to detail and good organization skills

What We Offer:

  • Competitive salary range: $26.44 to $36.32/hr (Associate) or $32.02 to $43.99/hr (Intermediate)
