We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our team in the Emergency Department at Royal Columbian Hospital. As a key member of our interprofessional care team, you will provide direct patient care, assess patients, and develop and implement individualized care plans.
Responsibilities- Assess patients and collect information from various sources to make informed nursing diagnoses and develop effective care plans.
- Collaborate with patients, families, and caregivers to develop and implement care plans that promote person-centered care and patient autonomy.
- Participate in the care and discharge planning process, ensuring comprehensive care planning and delivery.
- Coordinate nursing care, prioritize tasks, and delegate responsibilities to support staff as needed.
- Collaborate with the interprofessional care team to identify and resolve issues, adjust care plans as required, and address changes in patient condition.
- Teach patients and families about illness prevention, health restoration, and health maintenance to support self-care and discharge planning.
- Document assessments, nursing diagnoses, observations, interventions, patient/family responses, outcomes/evaluations, and referrals according to practice standards and Fraser Health procedures.
Graduation from an approved School of Nursing with current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM). Completion of applicable post-graduate coursework in emergency nursing or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience in emergency nursing.
Ability to communicate effectively, promote person-centered care, integrate and evaluate data, teach and instruct patients and families, organize and prioritize work, collaborate with the interprofessional care team, and use factual information to support nursing decisions and actions.
