Educational Requirements- Completion of secondary (high) school education.
The role is set within a vibrant restaurant atmosphere, emphasizing teamwork and culinary excellence.
Chef Responsibilities- Oversee and maintain accurate records of food costs, consumption, sales, and inventory.
- Guide and instruct kitchen staff in the preparation, cooking, garnishing, and presentation of dishes.
- Supervise cooks and other kitchen personnel to ensure high standards of food quality.
- Regularly prepare and cook meals, including special dishes for events and guests.
- Plan and design menus that meet quality standards and cater to diverse dietary needs.
- Manage requisitioning of food and kitchen supplies efficiently.
- Ensure safe food handling practices are followed in the kitchen.
- Train kitchen staff in food preparation and handling techniques.
- Safe Food Handling certificate is required.
Specialization in East Indian cuisine is essential for this role.
Physical and Personal Attributes- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Physically demanding role requiring stamina and attention to detail.
- Must be organized and a strong team player.
A minimum of 1 year to less than 2 years of relevant experience is preferred.
