Montreal, Quebec, Canada Barilla Group Full time

About the Role

The successful candidate will serve as an expert in all activities related to the extended warehouse management system (EWM) SAP and provide support to functional users throughout the entire project lifecycle, including post-implementation support. Additionally, the role will focus on analyzing supply chain processes and recommending applicable adjustments to optimize operational or financial efficiency, aiming to improve order fulfillment rate (OFR) and on-time delivery (OTD).

Key Responsibilities

Warehouse Management Optimization: Provide post-implementation support and guidance to key supply chain functions on the proper use of EWM SAP functionality. Continuously optimize the warehouse management system (WMS) to improve efficiency, accuracy, and stock visibility. This includes configuring parameters, implementing updates with the IT service, and training supply chain personnel on system usage to ensure smooth operation.

Inventory Control: Utilize the WMS to ensure stock accuracy, track stock levels, minimize discrepancies, and reduce manual errors.

Periodic Counting and Replenishment: Implement periodic counting programs using the WMS to regularly verify stock levels and reconcile discrepancies. Leverage algorithms to automate stock replenishment based on predefined thresholds and demand forecasts.

Order Fulfillment: Support preparation, packaging, and shipping processes at the warehouse to ensure rapid and accurate order execution. Leverage WMS capabilities to optimize pick routes, batch orders, and allocate resources efficiently.

Space Optimization: Maximize warehouse space utilization through space optimization and stock positioning strategies. Utilize the WMS to allocate storage locations based on product characteristics, rotation rates, and preparation frequencies.

Workforce Management: Utilize the WMS to track workforce productivity, set performance targets, and optimize labor allocation. Implement workforce management features to plan work shifts, monitor task completion, and identify areas for improvement.

Quality Assurance: Support quality control processes at the warehouse to ensure product integrity and customer satisfaction. Utilize the WMS to apply quality controls, trackability, and quarantine procedures for non-conforming products.

Performance Analysis: Utilize WMS analytics tools and dashboards to monitor key performance indicators, such as order accuracy, on-time delivery, and stock rotation. Analyze data to identify trends, root causes of inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement.

Training and Continuous Improvement: Provide ongoing training and support to supply chain functions (warehouse, transportation, customer service, production, distribution planning, finance) on effective use of technological tools, including the WMS. Maintain control over changes to the EWM SAP system.

Disaster Recovery and Emergency Planning: Collaborate with the IT service to implement disaster recovery plans and emergency measures to minimize warehouse operations disruptions and ensure business continuity.
