Job Summary
This role is pivotal in strategizing, implementing, and assessing initiatives aimed at securing significant donations exceeding $50,000 to advance Queen's University and its Health Sciences division. As a key figure in an integrated academic health sciences network in Eastern Ontario, this position plays a crucial role in shaping the future of health sciences education, forging impactful community partnerships, and spearheading cutting-edge research that tackles global health challenges.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute comprehensive fundraising strategies to secure major gifts exceeding $50,000.
- Cultivate and steward relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders, including donors, alumni, and community leaders.
- Develop and implement effective donor engagement and stewardship plans to ensure long-term relationships and increased giving.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to develop and implement strategic plans to advance the university's fundraising goals.
- Manage and analyze data to inform fundraising strategies and ensure effective use of resources.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including donors, alumni, and community leaders.
- Provide expert advice and guidance on fundraising strategies and best practices.
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices in fundraising and apply this knowledge to inform fundraising strategies.
Requirements
- Four-year bachelor's degree or equivalent.
- More than 5 years of experience in fundraising or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of fundraising principles, practices, and strategies.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and project management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to travel and work variable hours, including evenings and weekends.
Preferred Qualifications
- CFRE (Certified Fund Raising Executive) certification.
- Experience working in a higher education or non-profit setting.
- Strong knowledge of donor relations and stewardship principles.
