Overview:
The Senior Sales Manager plays a pivotal role in driving substantial group and meeting business from various sectors including local, regional, and national corporations, as well as associations and other organizations. This position is essential for maximizing team productivity and establishing the hotel as a key player in industry events and community engagements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify, negotiate, and secure contracts with major revenue-generating accounts in alignment with the hotel’s strategic business plan.
  • Represent the hotel at industry trade shows, client gatherings, and brand forums, necessitating travel to key markets.
  • Utilize diverse methods such as phone outreach, sales databases, and community involvement to prospect for new business opportunities.
  • Engage with third-party business representatives at local, regional, and national events to cultivate ideal business prospects.
  • Actively participate in industry organizations and seek leadership roles, which may require time commitments outside regular business hours.
  • Maintain relationships with key account clients and decision-makers through proposals, contract negotiations, and entertainment to support the hotel’s business objectives.
  • Apply revenue management strategies to recommend corporate rate proposals effectively.
  • Respond promptly to Requests for Proposals, ensuring competitive offers to secure additional business.
  • Develop and refine sales action plans consistently.
  • Keep an accurate and updated contact management system.
  • Negotiate and finalize contracts that align with the hotel’s business goals.
  • Communicate client requirements internally to ensure accuracy and clarity between clients and hotel staff.

Qualifications:

Required Experience:
Minimum of five years in large group sales within a full-service hotel environment, demonstrating successful outcomes.

Experience managing sales goals of at least $2.0 million.

Preferred Experience:
Experience in selling large groups within the current market.

Education Requirements:
High School Diploma or Equivalent.

Preferred Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Sales & Marketing, Business, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

Preferred Certifications:
CMP certification.

Technology Skills:
Familiarity with either Marriott CI/TY or similar systems.

Travel Requirements:
Travel may be necessary, potentially up to 25% of the time.
