About the Opportunity

Cape Breton Regional Hospital, a leading healthcare institution, is seeking a full-time Anesthesiologist to join its team. This position offers a unique opportunity to provide high-quality patient care and contribute to the hospital's mission to deliver exceptional healthcare services.

The successful candidate will be part of a dynamic team of 7 Anesthesiologists serving the Cape Breton Regional Municipality and surrounding communities. The hospital's Anesthesiology service is equipped to provide a full range of specialized care, and the successful candidate will have the opportunity to engage in research and/or medical teaching positions with Dalhousie University.

The Anesthesiologist will be responsible for providing full scope of practice as an anesthesiologist, including participating in call. The physician will be accountable to the Zone Department Head of Anesthesia for their professional responsibilities and quality of practice, and will operate within the Medical Staff Bylaws of the Nova Scotia Health Authority.

Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality patient care as an anesthesiologist, including pre-anesthesia evaluation, anesthesia care, and post-anesthesia recovery.
  • Participate in call and provide on-call services as required.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest medical research and best practices in anesthesiology.
Qualifications
  • Eligible for certification by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (FRCSC).
  • Eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia (CPSNS).
  • Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA) membership.
