Job Summary

EPCOR is seeking a highly skilled Power Electrician to join our team. As a Power Electrician, you will work with a variety of equipment such as protective relays, breakers, disconnects, switchgear, transformers, and other related substation equipment to ensure proper operation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and repair electrical systems and equipment.
  • Compile and analyze reports to identify areas for improvement.
  • Conduct operational checks and acceptance tests to ensure equipment is functioning properly.
  • Install, commission, and calibrate protective relays.
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair high voltage apparatus.
  • Assist with other substation-related duties as required.

Requirements

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • Journeyman Power Systems Electrician certificate.
  • 3+ years of recent power substations-related experience as a certified journeyman Power System Electrician.
  • Protection & Control experience is an asset.
  • Knowledge and experience working with medium and high voltage substation equipment.
  • Ability to work with energized high voltage equipment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (e.g., Teams, Word, Excel, and Outlook).
  • Valid Class 5 Alberta Motor Vehicle Operator's License with 6 or fewer demerits and the ability to qualify for and maintain a valid EPCOR driver's permit.
  • Clearance on background check requirements related to ARS CIP.
