We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Dental Assistant to join our team at Toronto Family Dental. As a Dental Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our dental team in delivering high-quality services.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare patients for dental examinations and ensure they are comfortable and relaxed throughout the procedure.
- Prepare plaster models and moulds for dental restorations and prosthetics.
- Supervise dental assistants in their health care functions and provide guidance and support as needed.
- Train other dental laboratory assistants on new procedures and techniques.
- Order dental and office supplies to ensure our practice is well-stocked and equipped.
- Perform administrative functions for the dental laboratory, including data entry and record-keeping.
- Prepare dental instruments and filling materials for use in procedures.
- Maintain and order supplies to ensure our practice is well-stocked and equipped.
- Perform reception and clerical duties as needed, including answering phones and responding to patient inquiries.
- Sterilize and maintain instruments and equipment to ensure a safe and clean working environment.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene and provide guidance on how to maintain good oral health.
- Finish metal framework of dentures and other prosthetics.
- Polish teeth and clinical crowns and apply fluoride and sealant as needed.
- Pack plastic material in moulds to form full or partial dentures.
- Perform intra-oral duties as needed, including taking impressions and preparing teeth for restorations.
- Make orthodontic bands from metal and alloys.
- Record dental procedures performed on patients and maintain accurate records.
- Invoice patients for dental services rendered.
- Polish and buff dentures to ensure a high-quality finish.
- Fabricate and place temporary crowns and restorations as needed.
- Take preliminary impressions for diagnostic casts.
- 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in a dental laboratory or related field.
- Other trades certificate or diploma or equivalent experience.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with patients and dental team members.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain a high level of productivity.
- Attention to detail to ensure accuracy and quality in all work.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Computer skills to use dental software and other technology.
- Parking available for employees.
