About the Position:

This is a temporary part-time administration role at Lambton College, reporting to the Manager Human Resources - Compensation & Benefits. The successful candidate will work 24 hours per week at a rate of $29.62/HR for a period of 1 year. The HR Associate will provide front-line customer service to College leaders, employees, and students with respect to all Human Resources services.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide administrative support to the Human Resources Department in areas such as new hire onboarding and offboarding, pension and benefits, payroll, and HRIS.

• Administer the overall process of onboarding new employees, including receiving and reviewing new hire documents, populating missing information in Colleague, HRIS, and MS Teams, and reviewing and updating onboarding checklists.

• Act as receptionist for the department, responding to routine telephone and personnel inquiries in a diplomatic and tactful manner.

• Ensure office supplies are stocked and order inventory when required, receive and distribute incoming and outgoing mail, and file items in personnel files or enter in MS Teams and archive inactive employee files.

• Support the management team in planning and organizing meetings, including logistics, agendas, documentation, and calendars.

• Process invoices, obtain signatures, and route to Accounts Payable, process tuition subsidy reimbursements, enter vacation and sick allotments for new hires, and assist with leave packages.

Requirements:

• A minimum of a 2-year post-secondary diploma in Human Resources or equivalent education as determined by the College.

• Completion of, or working towards, CHRP/CHRL is considered an asset.

• A minimum of three years of experience in Human Resources Administration is required, preferably with direct experience with HRIS systems, pension and benefits, and onboarding staff.

• Excellent time management, organizational, prioritization, and task consolidation skills.

• Ability to gather information, analyze, evaluate, formulate, and recommend appropriate courses of action.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including a consultative approach.

• Demonstrated HRIS experience and Microsoft Office software proficiency, specifically Excel.

• General knowledge of Collective Agreements and employment-related legislation.

• Knowledge of benefits and pension plans.

• Superior attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.

• Proven ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with strong multi-tasking and prioritizing abilities.

• Tact and discretion to recognize and maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive information.

• Strong client focus with an awareness of and sensitivity to diversity.

• Ability to build relationships at all levels of the organization.
