We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Legal Counsel to join our team in the Government of Alberta. As a key member of our legal team, you will provide expert legal advice and support to our clients in the areas of iGaming and emergency management.
Key Responsibilities- Provide comprehensive legal support and advice to our clients on iGaming and emergency management matters.
- Develop and implement legal strategies to ensure compliance with provincial and federal legislation.
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and other legal documents.
- Conduct legal research and provide written and verbal advice to senior members of government and other organizations.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure smooth operation and adherence to legal standards.
- Manage and mitigate legal risks associated with iGaming and emergency management projects.
- LL.B. or Juris Doctor (JD) degree from a recognized institution.
- Active membership or eligibility for full membership with the Law Society of Alberta.
- Minimum 4 years of related experience in a legal role, with a strong understanding of iGaming and emergency management legislation.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to inspire confidence in senior stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think creatively and strategically.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a focus on quality and accuracy.
