Job Summary

The PACC-CCAP is seeking a highly skilled professional to fill the position of Freedom of Information and Privacy Coordinator. This dynamic role requires a talented individual to oversee the daily operations of the organization's Privacy Management Program, ensuring compliance with the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FOIPPA).

Key Responsibilities

  • Handle information requests, interpreting and applying FOIPPA regulations, analyzing complex data for release, and recommending information disclosure or withholding.
  • Draft and review Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs) and policy and procedures related to Freedom of Information (FOI) requests.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, external organizations, and the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner (OIPC).
  • Provide information, advice, and training to staff and the public on FOIPPA regulations.
  • Assume responsibility for creating the closed agenda for Council, attending and taking minutes of Council, and carrying out confidential administrative duties.

Requirements

  • Considerable knowledge of Local Government Administration, Records Management, and Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy.
  • Completed Grade 12 and a minimum of two years' progressive experience in the records and information management field.
  • Proficiency in the interpretation and application of FOIPPA, the Community Charter, the Local Government Act, and the Interpretation Act.
  • Familiarity with the Local Government Management Association's (LGMA) Records Management Manual.
