We are seeking a skilled and experienced carpenter to join our team at Hi-Quality Homes Inc. As a carpenter, you will be responsible for constructing, repairing, and renovating residential and commercial buildings.
Key Responsibilities- Estimating and Planning: Prepare detailed estimates of labor and material costs for projects.
- Site Preparation: Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine work requirements and prepare layouts in accordance with building codes.
- Construction and Installation: Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, and other materials to build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring, and erect walls and roof systems.
- Finishing Work: Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, moldings, and hardware to ensure a high-quality finish.
- Project Management: Schedule and coordinate work on sites, survey building locations and levels, and instruct apprentices as needed.
- Supervision and Estimation: Supervise other workers, estimate costs and materials, and operate CADD and other computer software systems.
- Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience.
- Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in the trade.
- Physical Demands: Bending, crouching, kneeling, handling heavy loads, and working in physically demanding environments.
- Work Conditions: Work at heights, in noisy, dusty, and outdoors environments with tight deadlines and minimal supervision.
