Job Overview: Canadian Blood Services is seeking a Temporary full-time Shipper/Receiver to become a vital part of our Supply Chain Operations West team.

Role Responsibilities: The Supply Chain Operations West team plays a crucial role in ensuring the efficient shipping, receiving, and distribution of inventory at our Winnipeg facility. Key responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining inventory control through FIFO/FEFO methodologies, performing allocations in eProgesa and SAP, and conducting inventory counts as necessary.
  • Utilizing organizational skills to receive, log, sort, and distribute products and mail within the Winnipeg location.
  • Completing documentation for all designated shipments received.
  • Adhering to Standard Operating Procedures for product receipt and distribution, including quality inspections.
  • Distributing products to various departments as required.
  • Identifying and preparing recalled, damaged, and expired inventory for proper disposal.
  • Preparing bio-waste shipments and monitoring warehouse temperatures.

Qualifications: Candidates should possess:

  • A completed secondary school education.
  • A minimum of two years' experience in a shipping/receiving role within a logistics environment, preferably in warehouse and inventory distribution.
  • Experience in a healthcare setting is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of inventory control processes (FIFO and/or FEFO) is beneficial.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to exercise sound judgment and discretion.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, capable of managing multiple tasks with competing priorities.
  • Ability to foster professional relationships with peers, management, customers, volunteers, and donors.
  • Effective problem-solving skills, with the capability to interpret and analyze reports for informed recommendations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, along with advanced skills in MRP systems software, preferably SAP.
  • A typing speed of at least 45 words per minute.
  • Capability to maintain confidentiality and discretion.
  • Maturity and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
