The Master of Management & Professional Accounting Program at UTM is offering a Teaching Fellow position for the upcoming term. We invite applications from qualified candidates who are not currently enrolled at the University of Toronto.
Course Details:Business Finance, MGT 1330H (3 modules)
Classes will be held for 2 hours, 1-2 times weekly, Monday to Friday, with start times at 9 am, 12 pm, or 3 pm (subject to change).
This course provides an introduction to fundamental concepts in Finance, addressing the challenges posed by time and risk. Financial instruments, markets, and contracts are explored as solutions for individual investors and corporations.
The curriculum covers the characteristics and functions of financial markets and instruments, including stocks, bonds, and options. It also delves into decision-making under uncertainty, risk pricing, market efficiency, valuation of financial assets, optimal financing strategies, dividend policies, and the economic implications of derivative pricing.
The role encompasses all standard responsibilities associated with the design, administration, and instruction of a university-level credit course. This includes the preparation and delivery of course materials, oversight of teaching assistants, creation and evaluation of assignments, tests, and examinations, as well as the calculation and submission of grades. Regular office hours for student consultations are also expected.
Preferred qualifications include a completed PhD in a relevant field or, for non-University of Toronto graduate students, progress towards such a degree, or equivalent professional qualifications or experience.
We are particularly interested in candidates with prior teaching experience, a proven record of teaching excellence, and a strong command of the subject matter. Experience teaching a similar course is highly advantageous.
