Key Responsibilities:- Supervise Staff: Lead and motivate a team of sales workers, apprentices, and other staff members to achieve sales targets and provide excellent customer service.
- Assign Duties: Effectively allocate tasks and responsibilities to ensure that all areas of the gas bar are running smoothly and efficiently.
- Hire and Train: Recruit, train, and develop new staff members to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in their roles.
- Order Merchandise: Source and purchase merchandise and supplies to maintain an adequate stock level and meet customer demand.
- Authorize Returns: Process returns and exchanges in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Establish Schedules: Create and manage work schedules to ensure adequate staffing levels and minimize overtime.
- Sell Merchandise: Provide excellent customer service and promote sales of merchandise and services.
- Prepare Reports: Analyze sales data and prepare reports on sales volumes, merchandising, and personnel matters to inform business decisions.
- Resolve Issues: Address customer complaints, supply shortages, and other issues that may arise in a professional and timely manner.
- Organize Inventory: Maintain accurate inventory levels and ensure that stock is properly stored and rotated.
- Supervise Activities: Oversee the activities of workers and ensure that they are working efficiently and effectively.
- Conduct Performance Reviews: Regularly review staff performance and provide feedback and coaching to improve their skills and knowledge.
- Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
- Experience: 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in a retail or gas bar environment.
- Work Setting: Fast-paced environment with tight deadlines and a focus on customer service.
- Physical Capabilities: Combination of sitting, standing, walking, and standing for extended periods.
- Personal Suitability: Accurate, client-focused, efficient interpersonal skills, excellent oral communication, flexibility, organized, reliable, team player, dependable, initiative, judgement, and ability to multitask.
