Role Overview
The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will lead and manage the financial operations of the organization, which includes the preparation of current financial statements and the development of forecasts that predict future growth. The CFO will also oversee financial reporting. This individual will act as a trusted business partner to the CEO, the leadership team, and the Board, assisting in the execution of the company's growth strategy while fostering a collaborative and transparent environment. Additionally, the CFO will oversee HR functions and IT.

The ideal CFO candidate should have experience in the startup environment and possess strong financial acumen. Furthermore, managing relationships with the board of directors and fundraising efforts will be significant aspects of the role.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Oversee the preparation of all financial documents, including income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, shareholder reports, tax filings, and reports for government agencies.
  2. Enhance costing models for both direct and indirect cost allocations while monitoring burden and overhead rates.
  3. Collaborate with Sales and Business Development teams to create client pricing structures.
  4. Analyze sales and profit forecasts against actual figures and budgeted expenses; implement necessary adjustments to future forecasts and budgets.
  5. Review the planning process and recommend enhancements to existing methodologies.
  6. Evaluate operations to ensure effective capital utilization, identify areas for optimization, and promote continuous improvement.
  7. Work with senior executives to coordinate planning and set priorities for the planning process.
  8. Examine long-term economic trends and assess their potential impact on future sales growth and market share.
  9. Develop KPIs, tools, and systems to monitor essential financial and operational metrics for reporting to the CEO, providing actionable recommendations on strategy and operations.
  10. Evaluate the financial viability of opportunities for expansion into new service areas.
  11. Manage fund investments and collaborate with investment bankers to secure additional capital needed for growth.
  12. Oversee long-term budget planning and cost management in alignment with the company's strategic objectives.
  13. Engage in valuation and any exit strategy initiatives.
  14. Review and approve board packages, as well as quarterly and annual shareholder reports.
  15. Represent the organization to business partners, analysts, and investors, including financial institutions and auditors.

Management Duties
  1. Recruit, mentor, and train staff within the finance and HR departments.
  2. Supervise the accounting unit, budget preparation, and audit functions.
  3. Collaborate with other department heads to monitor departmental performance and provide recommendations.
  4. Continuously evaluate and ensure the finance structure is adequate to support growth.
  5. Identify skill gaps and ensure proper hiring and development of staff with the assistance of Human Resources.
  6. Set expectations, provide feedback and coaching, and take necessary actions to ensure performance and goal achievement.

Qualifications
Education
  1. Certified Professional Accountant designation (CPA).
  2. Master's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or Finance.

Professional Experience
  1. 15+ years of experience in financial management.
  2. Strong knowledge of revenue recognition, integrated billing, tracking, and service-side experience with deep financial expertise in the services sector.
  3. Experience in managing service contracts, pricing, inventory, and supplier agreements.
  4. Proven experience collaborating with senior management to develop and implement exit strategies.

Skills
  1. Experience with ERP implementation.
  2. Proficient in process improvement, cost system development, and financial modeling.
  3. Effective team management skills.
  4. Ability to provide expert financial advice and strategic planning frameworks to support decision-making regarding exit strategies.
  5. Bilingual proficiency (written and spoken).
