MacEwan University is seeking a highly skilled Accounting Technician II to join its Financial Services team on a full-time 15-month replacement term opportunity.

The successful candidate will be responsible for contributing to the success of the University's mission by providing exceptional accounting services to students, departments, and customers. Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing expert guidance on University Accounts Receivable and Billing policies and procedures to stakeholders.
  • Ensuring accurate and timely collection of outstanding accounts and making adjustments as required.
  • Verifying and recording accounting transactions using automated financial systems and investigating discrepancies.
  • Handling receipt of monies and depositing funds received by the university.
  • Maintaining records on miscellaneous payments and running daily sales reports.
  • Providing information and handling inquiries for corporate customers, students, and employees.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, analytical and critical thinking skills, and accuracy in working with computerized accounting systems. A minimum of two years' experience in a mid-size accounting environment, preferably in Accounts Receivable, is required. Experience with Microsoft Office and a Windows operating system is essential.
