About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Pediatric Respirologist to join our team at The Hospital for Sick Children. As a key member of our respiratory medicine department, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and contributing to the advancement of pediatric respiratory medicine.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct medical research on human disorders, illnesses, and preventive or curative methods related to pediatric respiratory medicine.
  • Prepare research papers for publication and presentation, showcasing your expertise in the field.
  • Study the nature, cause, and development of diseases and the structural and functional changes caused by diseases affecting pediatric patients.
  • Supervise laboratory activities, ensuring the highest standards of quality and safety.
  • Act as consultants to other physicians, providing expert advice and guidance on pediatric respiratory medicine.
  • Order laboratory tests, X-rays, and other diagnostic procedures to diagnose and treat pediatric respiratory conditions.
Requirements
  • Hold a degree in medicine, dentistry, veterinary medicine, or optometry.
  • Have a minimum of 5 years of experience in pediatric respiratory medicine.
  • Be certified by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and licensed by provincial or territorial authorities.
  • Be eligible for professional liability insurance.
