About the Position:

AGF Investments is seeking an Associate to support the portfolio management division in enhancing all facets of the investment management workflow. The ideal candidate should demonstrate the capability to operate both collaboratively and autonomously to provide optimal service to clients. A proactive and solution-focused approach is essential for this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with portfolio managers to create tools that effectively execute portfolio trading strategies across numerous individual accounts.
  • Oversee the daily implementation of trading strategies, which includes constructing, reviewing, and submitting trade documentation.
  • Gain a comprehensive understanding of current portfolio management software systems to pinpoint areas for potential efficiency improvements.
  • Assist the Portfolio Manager with research-related tasks as required.
  • Stay informed on political and economic developments that may influence the market landscape.
  • Foster and maintain positive relationships both within the team and externally.
  • Address client inquiries for additional information.
  • Contribute to the creation and upkeep of marketing materials for the firm.
  • Engage in ad hoc projects aimed at business growth or enhancing client service, which may include updating digital content, exploring software solutions, or managing internal documentation.
  • Maintain focus on priorities that matter most.

Qualifications:

  • Exceptional problem-solving abilities.
  • Proven interest in capital markets, investment strategies, and personal finance.
  • Completion of a Bachelor's degree.
  • Completion of Level 1 of the CFA program.
  • Possession of CFA, MBA, or other professional qualifications is advantageous (e.g., CPA, P.Eng).
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in a professional office setting.
  • Work and educational backgrounds are not restricted to Finance or Business; candidates with experience in Marketing, Computer Science, Engineering, or Mathematics are encouraged to apply.

Additional Role Information:

  • This position is primarily office-based with limited hybrid work options.
  • Not primarily client-facing.
  • There is significant potential for increased responsibilities over time based on the candidate's performance.

Compensation:

The annual base salary ranges from $70,000 to $120,000, plus bonuses, contingent on experience.
