POSITION SUMMARY
The Manager of Financial Planning & Analysis will report directly to the Director of Corporate Financial Planning & Analysis. This role requires a proactive approach to financial oversight, engaging comprehensively in the financial forecasting cycle. The successful candidate will cultivate a culture of ongoing enhancement, consistently identifying and applying innovative methodologies to improve efficiency, precision, and strategic insight within the financial planning and analysis domain. This individual will collaborate with a team of esteemed finance professionals to implement the financial and operational strategies of the organization.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist in generating precise and insightful financial forecasts, variance analyses, and performance reports to deliver actionable insights to senior leadership.
- Develop and sustain financial models to assess various scenarios and articulate the implications of business decisions through tailored variance commentary.
- Support the selection and implementation of new budgeting and planning software to enhance financial operations.
- Drive improvements in financial processes, systems, and reporting capabilities to boost efficiency and accuracy.
- Present financial data, analyses, and recommendations to finance leadership in a clear and concise manner.
- Identify and escalate financial issues, including breaches of cash balance targets and KPIs that exceed expectations.
- Conduct ad hoc analyses as dictated by evolving business requirements.
- Maintain the post-investment review dashboard, offering recommendations to address variances between actual and projected rates of return.
CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS
A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field is required. An MBA or relevant professional designation (e.g., CPA, CFA) is highly preferred. A minimum of 5 years of experience in financial modeling is essential, with a background in the multi-family sector being advantageous. Candidates should possess extensive experience in building and supporting complex financial models, developing and monitoring metrics, and preparing advanced analytical reports. Proficiency in Excel and the ability to work effectively under pressure are required. Strong interpersonal skills are necessary for building relationships at all organizational levels. The ideal candidate will be a collaborative team player who can navigate conflicts effectively. A proven track record of fostering positive long-term business relationships is essential. The candidate should exhibit strong communication skills, capable of translating complex financial and business information into clear, informative messages. Attention to detail, problem-solving capabilities, and a results-oriented mindset are crucial. A solid understanding of business operations and the financial frameworks that support them is expected.
