About the Role
The Manager of Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) will play a key role in maintaining a robust financial management approach, actively engaging in all aspects of the financial forecasting process. This individual will foster a culture of continuous improvement, consistently seeking and implementing innovative strategies to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and strategic insight within the financial planning and analysis function.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to the preparation of accurate and insightful financial forecasts, variance analyses, and performance reports to provide actionable insights to senior management.
- Create and maintain financial models to evaluate different scenarios, assess the impact of business decisions, and provide well-tailored variance commentary.
- Assist in the requirements gathering, product selection, and implementation of a new budgeting and planning software solution to optimize financial operations.
- Support improvements in financial processes, systems, and reporting capabilities to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Present financial information, analyses, and recommendations to finance leadership in a clear and concise manner.
- Escalate financial issues, breaches of cash balance targets, and KPIs that exceed expectations.
- Create ad hoc analysis as required by evolving business needs.
- Maintain the post-investment review dashboard, providing recommendations to mitigate variances between actual and underwritten rates of return.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field. An MBA or relevant professional designation (e.g., CPA, CFA) is highly preferred.
- Min 5+ years of financial modeling experience; background in the multi-family sector is preferred.
- Possess extensive experience building/supporting complex financial models, developing and monitoring metrics, and preparing advanced analytic analysis. Advanced Excel knowledge and experience working within the application under pressure is required.
- A relationship builder at all levels—internally and externally. A team player. Collaborates naturally, well, and easily. Confronts and resolves conflicts when necessary. A strong history of building positive long-term business relationships with peers, subordinates, and superiors.

- Excellent communicator who enables the translation of complex and detailed financial and business information into concise informative messages. Must be a skilled writer as well as having strong presentation skills.

- Shown a strong acumen to learn how businesses run and the financial frameworks that support them.
- Well-read on Real Estate, economic, and business matters.
