Emerging Leader Program

The Emerging Leader program is a 15-month leadership development program designed to identify and develop emerging talent within our organization. As an Emerging Leader, you will have the opportunity to learn and be mentored by multiple leaders across our business, including operations, sales, finance, human resources, and procurement.

Program Objectives

The program is designed to equip you with the skills and knowledge necessary to become an emerging talent within our organization. You will have the opportunity to work on various projects and assignments, gaining hands-on experience and developing your leadership skills.

Key Responsibilities

As an Emerging Leader, you will be responsible for:

  • Developing an understanding of our products and materials
  • Learning the process and flows of our yards and operations
  • Learning the ins and outs of overseeing a feeder yard site
  • Developing an understanding of our health and safety culture
  • Learning how our material gets transported from our customers to our sites
  • Learning how we dispatch and scale our material
  • Learning the equipment needed to set up an account
  • Learning about our contracts and how they are processed
  • Analyzing inventory and learning about our month-end inventory process
  • Learning how we process and pay our customers
  • Learning how we establish supplier strategies and vendor management
  • Collaborating with different departments to identify purchasing needs and strategies
  • Participating in inventory management with our storekeepers
  • Participating in onboarding and integration of new employees
  • Collaborating with the Talent Acquisition team to learn and identify top talent
  • Partnering with the HR Ontario team to understand critical aspects of the HR function
  • Visiting customer sites, interacting, and building critical customer relationships
  • Collaborating with the sales team to understand the process and importance of account managing

Qualifications

To be considered for the Emerging Leader program, you must:

  • Be a recent graduate from a relevant University or college program
  • Have strong written and oral communication skills
  • Have a valid driver's license
  • Have the ability for some travel
  • Have excellent customer service and organizational skills
  • Have the ability to work well within team and individual settings
