Key Responsibilities:

As the Residential Program Director, you will oversee relationships with all stakeholders, including clients, frontline staff, management, and senior leadership, to promote the mission and vision of Nisa Homes.

Team Leadership:

  • Manage a 24/7 staffed transitional home for women and children escaping domestic violence.
  • Coordinate staff scheduling within a 24/7 operational framework.
  • Build trust and collaborate with stakeholders to facilitate successful client transitions.
  • Oversee daily operations and establish monthly objectives.
  • Monitor team performance and spearhead team-building initiatives.
  • Resolve conflicts while fostering a positive workplace culture.
  • Collaborate effectively with a diverse team, valuing differing perspectives.
  • Assist the HR department with recruitment, training, and performance evaluations.
  • Provide constructive feedback through formal supervision.

Program Implementation:

  • Organize in-house activities and address client needs in partnership with relevant stakeholders.
  • Recruit, supervise, and train volunteers and/or placement students.
  • Adapt approaches to meet the unique needs of the home.
  • Coordinate case management, referrals, and advocacy efforts.
  • Manage budgets and identify opportunities to optimize funding across projects.
  • Respond promptly to inquiries and intake communications.

Administrative Duties:

  • Ensure timely completion of daily and monthly reports.
  • Implement all contractual obligations and reporting requirements.
  • Prepare monthly financial reports and analyze key performance indicators.
  • Participate in regular training and employment-related meetings.

Community Engagement:

  • Establish positive relationships with community partners and participate in meetings and focus groups.
  • Stay informed about issues related to abuse and violence.
  • Facilitate networking and collaborate with external partners on various initiatives.
  • Research potential funding opportunities.

Inventory and Donation Oversight:

  • Manage and maintain inventory of donations, groceries, and household supplies.
  • Coordinate with donors to ensure appropriateness of contributions.
  • Organize, label, and store donated items effectively.

Facility Management:

  • Coordinate emergency response efforts in line with established protocols.
  • Ensure the safe operation of the facility.
  • Manage maintenance requests and liaise with external service providers.
  • Maintain a list of service providers for necessary maintenance work.

Qualifications:

  • Education and/or training in a relevant field, such as a degree or diploma in human or social services, with approximately 2 years of management experience.
  • Knowledge of issues related to poverty, socio-economic inclusion, and relevant policies.
  • Experience managing a 24/7 staffed facility.
  • Experience collaborating with external partners and agencies.
  • Proficiency in managing contractual agreements.
  • Access to reliable transportation is essential.
  • Commitment to personal wellness and self-awareness.
  • Empathy and a client-centered approach, with an understanding of abuse dynamics.
  • Strong interpersonal skills across diverse cultural backgrounds.
  • Awareness of social issues affecting women.
  • Sensitivity to the challenges faced by individuals with low incomes, including newcomers and members of racialized communities.
  • Proficient in computer applications, including Excel and email.
