About the Role

The Health Information Coder will play a vital role in ensuring the accuracy and quality of patient data at Southlake Regional Health Centre. This position requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology, as well as excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assign accurate and consistent codes to patient records using ICD-10 CA and CCI classification systems
  • Enter data into the Med2020 WinRecs system with precision and attention to detail
  • Collaborate with physicians and healthcare providers to ensure accurate documentation and coding
  • Perform quality control and correction functions to maintain data integrity
  • Stay up-to-date with changing coding guidelines and regulations

Requirements

  • Health Information Management diploma from a recognized institution
  • Canadian Health Information Management Association (CHIMA) certification
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in coding and data analysis
  • Excellent knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail
