Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our team in the Cardiac Cath Lab at BC Children's Hospital. As a Registered Nurse in this role, you will be responsible for providing direct patient care and collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement individualized care plans for patients undergoing cardiac catheterization procedures.
- Provide direct patient care, including administering medications, performing procedures, and monitoring patient vital signs.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including cardiologists, anesthesiologists, and radiologists, to ensure seamless care coordination.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including medical histories, test results, and treatment plans.
- Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current with the latest advancements in cardiac catheterization procedures and technologies.
- Contribute to a positive and supportive team environment, promoting open communication and collaboration among colleagues.
Requirements
- Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses & Midwives (BCCNM).
- Two years recent related Cath Lab and/or acute care experience required.
- CPR Training – Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) – Level I.
- PALS Certification.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to relate effectively to children and their families and others.
- Ability to participate as a member of a multidisciplinary care team and function as a nursing resource.
- Ability to organize work.
- Demonstrated physical ability to perform the duties of the job.
- Ability to operate related equipment, including applicable computer software.
- Awareness of and commitment to learning and understanding the Truth & Reconciliation Commission's 94 Calls to Action (2015), In Plain Sight Report (2020), BC's Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act (2019), and other related reports.
- Commitment to upholding the shared responsibility of creating lasting and meaningful reconciliation in Canada as per TRC (2015) and BC's Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act (2019).
