We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Clinical Substance Use Therapist to join our team at Fraser Health. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will provide comprehensive clinical counseling and therapy services to individuals and families affected by problematic substance use or addictions.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct thorough assessments of clients using standardized instruments to determine their needs and establish risk indicators for referrals.
- Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with our interdisciplinary team, including crisis counseling and therapy services.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records in accordance with established standards and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in and lead team committees and case conferences to enhance service delivery and promote best practices.
- Provide prevention services by identifying community needs and developing activities to address them.
- Develop and deliver in-services and training to clients, families, and staff on topics related to substance use and mental health.
- Stay current with industry developments and best practices in the field of mental health and substance use.
- Assist in the orientation and training of new staff members.
- A Master's Degree in Social Work, Clinical Counseling, Counseling Psychology, or a related health or social science discipline.
- Two years of recent experience in addictions counseling or a comparable blend of education, training, and experience.
- Eligibility for registration with a relevant professional association.
- A valid B.C. Class 5 Driver's License and access to a personal vehicle for work-related purposes.
- Demonstrated knowledge of problematic substance use, addictions, mental health disorders, and counseling techniques.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English and Punjabi, both verbally and in writing.
- Comprehensive assessment, clinical counseling, and therapy skills, including crisis counseling.
- Ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment and as part of an interdisciplinary team.
- Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize workload in a complex environment.
- Knowledge of relevant Acts and regulations.
- Ability to educate and provide consultation to clients and healthcare professionals.
- Proficiency in personal computers and related software applications.
