Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Sales and Marketing to join our team at Sheraton Suites Calgary Eau Claire. As a key member of our executive team, you will be responsible for driving revenue growth and developing strategic marketing plans to achieve business objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement property-wide annual strategic marketing plans to drive revenue growth and increase market share.
  • Manage the sales function to achieve targeted room sales and catering revenue goals.
  • Prepare and manage annual sales and marketing operational budgets.
  • Lead the Sales Team to achieve successful performance by increasing revenues, controlling expenses, and providing a return on investment for the owner and the brand.
  • Attend sales and revenue strategy meetings to provide input on weekly and overall sales strategy.
  • Suggest innovative marketing ideas and develop deployment strategies to continue to grow market share and overall hotel revenues.
  • Set goals for all sellers and develop sales action plans. Address performance issues and hold staff accountable for successful results.
  • Identify coaching, training, and leadership needs for the Sales Team and devise methods of delivery.
  • Analyze monthly sales achievements and provide insights to inform future marketing strategies.
  • Chair monthly departmental Sales and Catering meetings to ensure ongoing effective communication of financial results, strategic direction, and general hotel information.
  • Develop strong partnerships with local organizations to further increase brand and product awareness.
  • Develop strong community and public relations by maintaining property participation in local, regional, and national tradeshows and client events.
Requirements
  • Minimum 3 years sales leadership experience in a large full-service hotel.
  • Diploma or degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management or Business would be an asset.
