Recreation Program Manager

**Job Summary:**
The Kativik Regional Government (KRG) is seeking a highly motivated and organized Recreation Coordinator to join our team in Kuujjuaq, Quebec. As a key member of our Recreation Department, you will be responsible for developing and implementing regional recreation activities for youth, as well as providing administrative support to the Director of Recreation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Program Development: Assist the Director of Recreation in organizing and administering various recreational projects, including the Arctic Winter Games and Eastern Arctic Summer Games.
- Activity Coordination: Develop, implement, and provide general administration of new and current regional recreation activities for youth, including partnerships with the Kativik School Board and Northern Villages.
- Funding and Grants: Prepare and submit funding applications, follow-ups, and renewals for all pertinent youth recreation projects.
- Staff Supervision: Supervise department staff, project part-time employees, local agents, and other personnel as required.
- Community Engagement: Foster relationships with regional, provincial, and federal programs related to youth recreation in Nunavik.
- Administrative Support: Provide general administrative support to the Director of Recreation, including data entry, record-keeping, and other tasks as assigned.
Requirements:
- Education: College or University diploma in Recreation or Education, or equivalent experience.
- Experience: Minimum three years of relevant experience in recreation or a related field.
- Language Skills: Written and oral working knowledge of at least two (2) of the following languages: Inuktitut, English, and French.
- Certifications and Clearances: Clean criminal record and ability to work in a computerized environment.
- Personal Qualities: Reliable, autonomous, and able to work under pressure, with strong communication skills and ability to travel frequently.
Work Environment:
The Recreation Coordinator will work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, with a focus on delivering high-quality recreation programs and services to the community. The successful candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to customer service and community engagement.
Benefits:
- Salary: $85,598 - $117,698 per year, based on 35 hours/week.
- Cost of Living Differential: Minimum of $8,500 per year.
- Food Allowance: Minimum of $3,903 per year.
- Annual Leave Trips: Maximum of 3 per person annually.
- Pension Plan: RRSP.
- Group Insurance: Comprehensive health and dental insurance.
- Vacation: 20 days/year, plus 10 days in lieu of overtime.
- Statutory Holidays: 20 days, including 10 during Christmas holidays.
