Position Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and experienced individual to take on the role of Warehouse Supervisor at Richelieu Hardware Ltd.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee warehouse personnel to ensure daily targets for shipping, receiving, returns, restocking, and putaway are met efficiently.
- Ensure timely processing of orders, maintaining the order of picking, and recommending enhancements to existing processes.
- Manage the receiving process to guarantee that purchase orders are processed correctly, addressing discrepancies as they arise.
- Facilitate training for new hires and ongoing training for all warehouse staff, focusing on equipment usage and health and safety protocols.
- Provide constructive performance feedback to team members and assist in addressing performance-related issues.
- Conduct annual performance evaluations for direct reports and support the recruitment of new team members.
- Maintain open communication with the warehouse manager regarding operational requirements.
- Act as a key holder responsible for securing the facility and responding to alarm situations.
- Review and analyze errors in shipping, receiving, returns, and restocking processes to minimize occurrences.
- Investigate return trends and damage claims, proposing improvements to reduce their frequency.
- Ensure accurate inventory management through both physical checks and statistical analysis.
- Deliver exceptional customer service at the pick-up counter, ensuring all customers are attended to promptly and professionally.
- Utilize data analysis tools to identify root causes of operational challenges and implement effective solutions.
Qualifications:
- Multilingual abilities are a plus.
- A college degree is advantageous.
- Experience in warehouse operations, particularly in a unionized setting.
- Strong understanding of distribution processes and warehouse management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel), AS-400, Warehouse Management Systems, and Radio Frequency technology.
- Forklift and Reach Truck experience is preferred.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with a results-oriented mindset.
- Excellent organizational, planning, and delegation abilities.
- Strong communication skills and sound judgment.
- A collaborative team player who leads by example.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
