About the Role

AECOM is seeking a highly skilled Archaeological Specialist to join our cultural resources team in London. As an integral member of our team, you will contribute to report composition, data management, cultural material processing and analysis, and administration.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct standard scientific work, applying techniques and procedures to analyze and interpret data.
  • Identify and address problems that arise during the analysis process.
  • Collaborate with experienced scientists to conduct specific phases of projects.
  • Develop and propose analytical methods and techniques to ensure accurate results.
  • Draw conclusions and make recommendations based on analysis.
  • Interpret and record data, conduct analyses, and compare findings to relevant studies and regulations.
  • Work under general supervision, with a focus on delivering high-quality results.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Cultural Resources, Heritage, Anthropology, or a related field.
  • 2 years of relevant experience in archaeological lab work, artifact cataloging, or report writing.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with the Ontario MCM's Standards and Guidelines for Consultant Archaeologists.
  • Ability to coordinate logistics for multiple field teams.
  • Experience with field effort tracking, including collection and management of field data.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams.
  • Basic knowledge of the heritage planning process, including identification of built heritage or cultural heritage landscapes.
  • Additional experience in archaeological excavations.
  • Valid Research or Professional class license issued by the Ontario MCM.
  • Excellent research and writing skills.
  • Dedication to following and promoting a strong health and safety culture.
  • Excellent written and communication skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and independently.
  • Dedication to learning required laboratory skills under the direction of management.
