Role Overview

We are seeking a Senior Legal Advisor to enhance our expanding legal team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage insurance defense cases of varying complexities from inception to resolution.
  • Independently prepare and execute applications/motions, conduct discoveries, mediations, arbitrations, pre-trial conferences, and trials.
  • Draft legal opinions, pleadings, affidavits, and other essential documents to support motion applications, mediation briefs, and pre-trial memoranda.
  • Develop and deliver legal training seminars for the claims department.
  • Maintain effective and productive communication with the claims department and adjusters.

Qualifications:

  • Must be a member in good standing with the Law Society.
  • A minimum of five years of experience in insurance litigation.
  • Proficient in drafting pleadings, reviewing extensive documentation, conducting discoveries, and managing trials/arbitrations.
  • Exceptional organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple case files independently.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the capability to foster effective client relationships.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with experience in research and negotiation.
  • Skilled in alternative dispute resolution, including the independent preparation and conduct of mediations.

Compensation

The salary for the successful candidate will typically fall within the range of $111,000 to $167,200, considering various factors such as prior experience, qualifications, expected contributions to the role, and internal equity.
