Controller of Finance

Highland Farms, a family-owned and independent supermarket business, is seeking a seasoned financial professional to join our team as Controller of Finance. Reporting directly to the President, this role will play a critical part in shaping the company's financial strategy and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and review financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Develop and implement financial models and forecasts to inform business decisions.
  • Manage and oversee the accounting team, providing guidance and support to ensure the efficient and effective operation of the department.
  • Collaborate with the President and other senior leaders to develop and implement financial strategies that align with the company's overall business objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations and laws.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in a senior financial role, preferably in the retail or food industry.
  • University degree in Business or Accounting, with advanced degree preferred.
  • Professional accounting designation (CPA, CGA, or CMA).
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Experience with financial analysis, budgeting, and strategic planning.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to mentor and develop accounting staff.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with Sage 2021 software.
  • Knowledge of Ceridian Dayforce and payroll processing.
  • Proficient in MS Office and MS Outlook.
