Retail Store Supervisor Job Description

Petro Canada is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Retail Store Supervisor to join our team. As a key member of our retail operations team, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day activities of our retail store, ensuring excellent customer service, and driving sales growth.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of retail staff, including sales associates, cashiers, and stockroom personnel.
  • Assign sales workers to duties and ensure that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
  • Hire, train, and develop staff to meet the needs of the store and drive sales growth.
  • Teach interest or professional development courses to enhance staff skills and knowledge.
  • Plan and develop permanent and temporary exhibits and displays for museum exhibitions, trade shows, conventions, retail spaces, and other exhibitions.
  • Order merchandise and authorize returns to ensure optimal inventory levels.
  • Establish work schedules and ensure that all staff are aware of their responsibilities and deadlines.
  • Prepare reports on sales volumes, merchandising, and personnel matters to inform business decisions.
  • Resolve customer complaints, supply shortages, and other issues that may arise.
Work Environment:

The Retail Store Supervisor will work in a fast-paced retail environment with tight deadlines and high expectations. The ideal candidate will be able to work under pressure, think critically, and make sound decisions quickly.

Requirements:
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in a retail or supervisory role.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and lead by example.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
