Recooty is on the lookout for a Chief Fundraising Officer to become an integral part of our national team, spearheading fundraising initiatives across the country through mid-level and major gift strategies.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Collaborate with the Administration Manager and Executive Director to formulate and implement both short-term and long-term fundraising objectives, ensuring a consistent increase in revenue.
  2. Devote efforts to identifying and securing new funding sources, including individual donors, corporate partners, and foundations. This role emphasizes proactive outreach, networking, and research to uncover fresh opportunities.
  3. Enhance and expand revenue generation strategies with current donors through effective cultivation and engagement techniques.
  4. Attract new corporate and foundation partners while developing tailored stewardship plans.
  5. Ensure all fundraising activities align with relevant organizational policies and best practices.
  6. Assist in the recruitment and retention of skilled personnel to fulfill organizational goals.
  7. Provide regular updates on fundraising progress and objectives to the Administration Manager and/or Executive Director.
  8. Craft solicitation strategies and proposals for potential donors.
  9. Oversee the development and management of grant applications in collaboration with the Administration Manager and Executive Director.
  10. Build and nurture relationships with current and prospective funders, including managing applications, stewardship agreements, and reporting requirements.
  11. Prepare reports, proposals, and correspondence related to grants and funding opportunities.
  12. Research and identify new grant opportunities that can generate revenue for Recooty.
  13. Utilize AI tools to create comprehensive reports and documentation related to fundraising activities.
  14. Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  1. Exhibit strong self-discipline and motivation in a remote work setting, managing tasks independently while maintaining productivity.
  2. Possess post-secondary education in business, fundraising, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  3. Demonstrated experience in leading fundraising campaigns with revenue targets exceeding $100,000.
  4. 5-7 years of experience in a fundraising or management capacity within the non-profit sector.
  5. Proven ability to take initiative and see projects through to completion with minimal oversight.
  6. Exceptional organizational skills with the capacity to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
  7. Outstanding communication skills, including persuasive writing and strong verbal abilities.
  8. Ability to craft compelling narratives tailored to diverse stakeholder groups.
  9. Skilled in managing various projects with shifting priorities.
  10. Proactive problem solver with sound decision-making capabilities.
  11. Able to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
  12. Demonstrate creativity, resourcefulness, and initiative.
  13. Proficient in computer applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.).
  14. Experience with relational databases is advantageous.
  15. Highly organized and detail-oriented.
  16. Energetic and passionate about fundraising initiatives.

Preferred Qualifications

Fluency in French; CFRE designation (or in progress).

Work Environment

This is a commission-based role (contingent upon successful grant applications) with the potential to transition to a salary-based position after a probationary period. Candidates are encouraged to include their commission expectations in their application.

Remote Work Structure

  1. Full-Time (40 hours per week).
  2. 1-Year Contract with the possibility of extension (subject to a probationary period).
  3. Includes a paid lunch break.
