Position Overview: As a Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) Supervisor, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the quality of care provided to residents in a long-term care setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure that resident care aligns with established nursing standards, physician directives, and administrative policies.
- Assist in the evaluation and monitoring of residents, while actively participating in the development, implementation, and assessment of individualized care plans.
- Oversee and assess the performance of nursing and personal care staff, including conducting orientations and fulfilling other supervisory responsibilities.
- Monitor staff performance, conduct evaluations, and address any issues with the Director of Care.
- Provide leadership to the nursing department during the absence of the Director of Care.
Qualifications:
- Current certificate of competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario.
- A genuine passion for providing care to seniors.
- Registered or eligible for registration with the Registered Nurses Association of Ontario.
- Previous experience in long-term care is advantageous, with a solid understanding of the associated responsibilities.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively, prioritizing tasks effectively.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, along with excellent comprehension abilities.
- Creative problem-solving skills to assess situations from a broader perspective.
