Job Overview

Chimera Construction Ltd is seeking a dedicated and skilled carpenter to join our team. This permanent position offers a full-time schedule of 40 hours per week, with a focus on high-quality craftsmanship and safety.

Job Requirements
  • Education: Completion of secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: A minimum of 5 years in carpentry or related fields.
Work Environment

The role involves working in various conditions, including:

  • At heights
  • Confined spaces
  • Outdoor settings
  • Noisy environments
Key Responsibilities

The carpenter will be responsible for:

  • Interpreting blueprints, drawings, and sketches to assess work requirements.
  • Preparing layouts in compliance with building codes using precise measuring tools.
  • Measuring, cutting, shaping, assembling, and joining materials such as wood and lightweight steel.
  • Constructing foundations, installing floor beams, laying subflooring, and erecting walls and roofs.
  • Fitting and installing windows, doors, stairs, moldings, and hardware.
  • Coordinating and scheduling work on-site.
  • Surveying building locations and levels.
Safety and Equipment

All candidates must have personal protective equipment (PPE) training and possess their own tools and safety gear, including:

  • Steel-toed safety boots
  • Hard hat
  • Safety glasses/goggles
  • Safety vest
Physical Demands

This position requires:

  • Bending, crouching, and kneeling
  • Handling heavy loads
  • Working under tight deadlines
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
