Join Pinchin as a Project Coordinator specializing in hazardous materials within our dedicated team. This role involves overseeing various aspects of environmental safety and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough assessments of hazardous materials and workplace exposures.
- Engage with clients to gather information regarding building history and specific concerns.
- Perform comprehensive inspections and evaluations of building systems and materials.
- Utilize specialized equipment to gather measurements and samples.
- Identify and analyze materials suspected of containing asbestos, lead, or PCBs.
- Prepare detailed reports that document findings and offer actionable recommendations.
- Monitor contractors involved in hazardous materials abatement to ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Collect and analyze air samples for asbestos using Phase Contrast Microscopy (PCM).
- Support business development efforts with existing clients.
- Enhance quality control measures within the team.
Qualifications:
- Post-secondary education in Occupational Health and Safety, Construction, Architectural Technology, or a related field.
- Two to five years of relevant experience.
- Previous experience with hazardous materials is an advantage.
- Professional designations such as C.E.T. are beneficial.
- Strong understanding of environmental and health safety regulations.
- Familiarity with various building systems including HVAC, plumbing, and electrical.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural plans.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Proficient in technical report writing.
- Skilled in Microsoft Office applications.
- Willingness to work outside of standard hours and on weekends as needed.
- Valid driver's license and vehicle for travel within the designated area.
- Compliance with client-required security clearances and testing may be necessary.
