Job Title: Student Nurse Extern

Job Summary:

Humber River Health is seeking a Temporary Casual Student Nurse Extern to join our Critical Care program. As a Student Nurse Extern, you will provide direct personal support to patients, working under the supervision of Registered Nurses and Registered Practical Nurses. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide basic care and support to patients, including activities of daily living such as bathing, toileting, and feeding.
  • Document patient care and activities, including intake and output, and relevant communication.
  • Work collaboratively with the inter-professional healthcare team to ensure high-quality patient care.
  • Participate in ongoing mentoring and supervision from Registered Nurses and Registered Practical Nurses.
Requirements:
  • Currently enrolled in years 2-4 of a nursing program of studies.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to accurately and effectively communicate with healthcare team members.
