Position Overview:
The Bilingual Collections Specialist plays a crucial role in managing overdue accounts efficiently and in line with company policies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Investigate overdue accounts within the assigned portfolio.
- Manage collections and administration of accounts.
- Reduce potential financial losses and protect the corporate reputation.
- Assist clients with budgeting and planning to rectify current delinquencies and prevent future occurrences.
- Evaluate and collect applicable fees.
- Review bankruptcy cases and consumer proposals, filing claims as necessary.
- Collect outstanding common expenses, tax, and utility arrears.
- Establish payment plans for overdue accounts.
- Process new payment arrangements.
- Provide credit assessments and mortgage verifications.
- Collect remaining balances on discharged mortgages.
- Ensure compliance with policies and procedures to meet AML requirements when applicable.
Qualifications:
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- A collaborative team player who can also work independently.
- Ability to meet deadlines effectively.
- Proficiency in MS Office and a willingness to learn new systems.
- Availability for shift work as required.
- Bilingual proficiency in French and English is essential for interactions with clients.
Work Environment:
- High-volume periods with strict deadlines.
- Extended periods of sitting and repetitive movements.
- Prolonged use of computer screens.
- Ability to multitask, including phone interactions while accessing computer systems.
