We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Technologist, Network Operations to join our team at Telesat. As a key member of our Network Operations team, you will be responsible for providing technical leadership and expertise in the implementation and management of our Low Earth Orbit (LEO) services.
Main Responsibilities- Technical Leadership: Provide technical guidance and oversight to ensure the successful implementation of LEO services and products.
- Service Implementation: Develop and implement technical plans and specifications for the integration of LEO services into our day-to-day operations.
- Problem Resolution: Lead the resolution of complex technical issues and faults in our LEO systems, ensuring minimal disruption to our services.
- Team Management: Supervise and manage a team of technical professionals to ensure the successful delivery of LEO services.
- Customer Relations: Develop and maintain positive relationships with customers, ensuring their needs are met and exceeded.
- Process Improvement: Identify areas for process improvement and implement changes to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of our LEO services.
- Education: Electronics Engineering Technologist Diploma or equivalent post-secondary education.
- Experience: 5+ years of technical experience in the telecommunications field, with 3+ years of experience in a Telecom-based Network Operations Center environment.
- Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication and presentation skills, and the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional and global environment.
- Language: Bilingualism is preferred.
- Work Environment: The incumbent will primarily work in an office environment, with occasional travel to customer premises and field service activities.
- Shift Work: The service operates 24 hours, 7 days per week, and shift work and the ability to work in an unsupervised environment are critical to this position.
- Overtime: Overtime and alterations to shift schedules can be expected.
