Nurse Specialist Cord Blood Specialist

Canadian Blood Services is seeking a skilled Nurse Specialist Cord Blood to join our Medical Laboratory & Stem Cell Services team.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with Cord Blood Bank staff to promote a culture of continuous quality improvement, ensuring regulatory and accreditation standards are met.
- Conduct maternal interviews and assess responses to questions to determine donor suitability for cord blood donation, including informed consent, medical history, and phlebotomy.
- Perform ex-utero umbilical cord blood collection as required.
- Provide training, support, and mentorship to the cord blood bank team and hospital customers.
- Baccalaureate degree in Nursing from a recognized registered nursing program.
- Minimum of three to six years related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Licensed to practice as a Registered nurse in the province of employment.
- Knowledge of adult learning principles and experience in Obstetrical Nursing and/or Labour and Delivery are preferred.
- Venepuncture experience is mandatory.
- Pro-rated accrued vacation.

- Shifts are scheduled between Monday to Friday, 7am to 3pm, including all statutory holidays that fall on weekdays.
